About Ray
Ray Palmer resides in upstate New York, between the Adirondacks, the Catskills, the Green Mountains, and the rolling hills and farmlands spreading westward. His work appears in calendars, fine art shows, and the occaisional publication. His initial work as an Adirondacks photographer stimulated the pursuit of the art form, and the lust to see not only the iconic vistas of the masters, but the greater geographic areas that contained them. Frequenting wilderness areas and natural settings, Ray brings back images from Maine seascapes to California desertscapes; he has photographed extensively in the NorthEast, SouthWest, West, and NorthWest, as well as forays down the eastern seaboard, into Alaska, Hawaii, the Caribbean, and Costa Rica. Primarily a nature photographer, Ray is drawn to landscape, wildlife, and macro imagery.
Grand landscapes and intimate details are what attract the nature photographer to his work, while a combination of light, season, and weather decide the success of the capture. The passion to always want to see more can deposit you on a rugged trail at high altitude, worrying out a passing snow squall, or catching dawn at the docks of a working lobster harbor.
