Adirondacks, NY

On the north end of Silver Lake, its namesake mountain rises to 2500 feet for a commanding view south and east. Autumn was in full swing and the hillsides surrounding were on fire when I went up a couple of years ago. Not content with this view, I went searching for a trail that supposedly followed ledges along the ridgeline further east, but it petered out in dense forest. If any Adirondack explorers are aware of a trail I missed, please let me know, but I tend to think that at times, the trailguides describe viewpoints that a photographer would describe as "not".
