Tirrell Pond, Adirondacks, NY.
As so often happens up here, what began as a beautiful spring morning broke down at the destination. Today's was Tirrell Pond, really more of a lake, sitting beneath Blue Mountain...a fitting destination itself for my mood. Whike I walked the shores a bit, the heavy skies seemed to stall overhead, dark clouds piling up above me as the breeze faltered for awhile. I sat and thought of nothing, meaning of course everything, for awhile, basking in warmth when sun spots found their way to my end of the lake. I pulled my rain gear, and set up the photo gear, suppressing my dark down side in the act of tending to the task at hand. Or perhaps it was the storm, gathering as it was, that pulled negativity into it's clutch. Finished, I gathered my pack and other baggage as well, and hiked back to my car. It never did rain.
