On a perfect spring morning, I hiked out to Tirrell Pond. Shortly before destination, the sky clouded over and all but destroyed any shooting there for the day. Lakes can be tough subjects, tougher if the skies aren't cooperating. Fortunately, the Raquette River is not that far from the trailhead, and I guessed one of it's most visited features, Buttermilk Falls, would show well under an overcast. The spring flows made the journey worthwhile, and white noise serenaded me as I roamed the edges of the rapids. There's dozens of compositions along the cascade, that change with the water levels year round. This was one of my favorites from that day.
