Mount Rainier National Park, Washington.
Above the visitor center at the Paradise sector of Mount Rainier, a web of trails leads you upwards, through beautiful subalpine meadows to various vistas overlooking glaciers, waterfalls, and of course, the mountain. The mountains give way to gravel, rock and snowfields eventually, and the trails themselves come together a ways above here into one route that climbers use to attain Muir Camp before they summit. On this morning, sunlight was pouring across this little meadow just below the treeline, lighting the spent flower stalks and still green grasses of autumn below the mountain.
